Potato Please is an upcoming game about preparing spuds and we definitely see the appeel

What’s better than peeling potatoes? Peeling more potatoes! At least, that’s what your bosses in Potato Please seem to think. This bizarre incremental game, currently in development, tasks you with preparing potatoes for your unseen comrades, peeling and washing them by hand.
At least, that’s how Potato Please starts. But, as the game continues you’ll be able to purchase technology that speeds the job up and automate it to the point you’re just sucking up potatoes from a pile and spewing them into a machine.
The more you peel, the faster you can peel and the more money you earn for upgrades. Developer Golden Horn Studios boasts that the game features real physics, which presumably means you’ll have to flail around because your potato rolled under a table. The grit just adds flavour.
However, there are also hints that there’s more going on. The trailer, which you can watch above, shows you finding a key inside a potato, suggesting you’ll have the opportunity to escape your situation.
However, I’m not sure I’d take that option. This is the kind of incremental gameplay loop that tickles my brain, to the point where the time just flies by, like Universal Paperclips, but with more starch. Forget escaping, just lock me in and let me watch the Peel-o-Matic at work.
The game doesn’t currently have a release date. However, you can wishlist Potato Please on Steam right now.
