First there was Shapez, and now there’s Puzzlez. There’s one thing to be said for indie developer tobspr, they’re consistent with their naming conventions! If you played and enjoyed Shapez, a factory automation game, you might want to keep your eye on Puzzlez: A Shapez Game, which is set to release in 2027. But even if the automation-focused nature of Shapez never appealed to you, there’s a chance Puzzlez might be more your thing.

Developer tobspr isn’t moving far from Shapez; Puzzlez still has a very distinct appearance, similar to the games that came before it. But rather than setting up automated factory production lines, this has you solving optimisation-based puzzles based in 3D dioramas.

All about building shapes in compact three-dimensional spaces, Puzzlez is designed to be easy to pick-up-and-play, and it’s aimed at puzzle gamers of all kinds, not just those bouncing from Shapez. Starting off easy, Puzzlez begins with straightforward shape-based problems before getting incrementally more difficult, introducing new shapes and fluids to the mix.

Set to release on Steam in 2027, Puzzlez has more than 75 handcrafted logic puzzles for you to work through, all designed in a compact and atmospheric 3D space. Every puzzle can be solved in your own way in your own time, although you can track your progress and compare how well you’re doing with others. If you really want to get involved, Puzzlez also lets you create your own brainteasers that you can share with other players.

More information can be found on tobspr’s official website, and you can watch the trailer below.
