RippleLoop is a ridiculously cozy game about skipping stones and you can play a demo now

What’s the coziest game out there? Stardew Valley? Cozy Grove? Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth? They’ve all got a claim to the cozy crown, but they should be very, very worried about RippleLoop, an upcoming game that’s about.. wait for it.. skipping stones.
That’s literally all there is to the game. You skip a stone across a lake, upgrade your abilities so you can skip further, then visit another body of water and skip some more. But there’s something so relaxing, so utterly charming about this activity that RippleLoop’s demo has us hooked.
It’s not a flashback to our childhood; as ancient as we are, stone-skipping feels like the previous generation’s domain. But RippleLoop is so relaxing, just skipping your stone and giving it a nudge as it scoots across the lake, we almost melted out of our chair.
The game’s cozy factor is enhanced by its gorgeous pixel-art aesthetic and the chill soundtrack that plays away in the background as you skip yet another stone. If your Sunday afternoon is full of stress, RippleLoop could be the relief you need, and that’s just this small chunk of the final game.
We’re eager to see where developer DistortedGameDev can take the final game. In particular, we’re curious about the many unlockable levels. Maybe we’ll get to skip a stone across some alien lake. Another World would have been a lot less harrowing if Lester was just flinging rocks across the pool where he materialized.
The game is set for a 2026 release. In the meantime, you can wishlist RippleLoop on Steam and download the demo.
