If you’re planning on jumping into Rivage, the sci-fi narrative-driven puzzle game from Exnilo Studio and Raw Fury, you might want to bookmark this walkthrough to help you out when you get stuck. We don’t like to say it, but you probably will get stuck: Rivage is not a walk in the park, and some of its puzzles require a lot of thought.

But it is a very rewarding, atmospheric game. We’ve had a blast (mostly) as we’ve worked through its many, many puzzles, and there’s a good chance you will too. But you’ve got one benefit we didn’t have: this walkthrough to help you out when you just don’t know where to go.

Follow our Rivage guide through from start to finish, or simply jump in when you’re not sure what to do. We’ve separated out our guide into headings based on what particular goal we were achieving, so feel free to use the quick links below to jump to specific point that you need help with. Enjoy the game, and we really hope this walkthrough helps you out.

Important note: Some things in Rivage are randomised, such as dates and certain puzzle solutions. It’s not always easy to gauge which parts of a puzzle might differ, so we’ve tried hard to ensure we include how tos rather than straight-up solutions, so you know how to fin the answer for yourself.

Access Miranda’s computer and vault

  • Go to the desk on your right and pick up the K9 leaflet. Hold X/A to scan it.
  • Turn around and interact with the computer. Click the button to get a password hint. It says “my bestseller”. There’s a book on the desk: Stardust. Type “stardust” in the password box to access the computer.
  • Click the paper plane to access Miranda’s emails. Note the “Vault Reset” email from Optima Vault. Remember the date on here. Note: The dates are randomised so yours might not be the same as ours.
  • Leave the room and interact with the cube that appears in front of the map.
  • Open the case to the left of the map. You’ll need to unlatch the clips on the front then hold and pull forward two hands on top.
  • Take note of the password reset instructions leaflet in here.
Rivage Vault reset instructions
You’ll need these instructions a few times as you play! Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Go back into Miranda’s room and interact with the Optima Vault just by the door. Type in /000/ and press OK.
  • Next type in the date we got from the email on the computer. Press OK, then grab the orange handle on the top left of the vault and pull it down to open it.
  • Interact with Miranda’s access card and turn it over. Hold X/A to scan the barcode.
Rivage Miranda ID card
You can’t simply pick up an ID card – you need to scan the barcode on the back to permanently add it to your K9 device. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Look in the cupboards of the vault and examine the letter and journal found inside.

Find the batteries for the Emergency Pharmacy

  • Leave Miranda’s room and turn left down the corridor to find yourself at a locked door to the kitchen. Interact with the blue ‘open’ button to open the door.
  • The floating droid will talk to you and ask you to take a screenshot of him. Hold down ‘down’ on your d-pad to do so.
  • Go to the large orange board filled with mathematical equations. On the bench below is a battery. Pick it up.

Here’s another battery. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Go back to the Dock System and choose ‘Robot Area’ again. Add the third battery to the Emergency Pharmacy.
  • Pull down the handle on the Emergency Pharmacy and choose ‘Pod Bay Access’. Take the card that it dispenses. Rotate the card and scan the back of it.
  • However, we can’t get to the Pod Bay because the electricity has gone off. The storage room at the back of the kitchen should now be open. Go through there and interact with the arcade machine. You’ll initiate a loop, waking back up in your bed.

  • Take the key from the top shelf, and look at the card builder flyer from the shelf below.
  • Go back to the kitchen and use the Dock System to switch to the Cultivation area.
  • Go up the stairs in the Cultivation area. You need to use the key you picked up to open the box, but first you need to adjust the key.
Rivage Amaad's locked box
Open this box with your key. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Press triangle/Y to take a look at the key from your inventory. There are three pieces of the key to rotate. You can try as many times as you like, so pay attention to how it looks to fit in the lock. Once you get it right, the box will open.
  • Pick up the access card from inside.
  • Go back to the Pod Bay area and interact with the Access Card Builder at the end of the hallway.
Rivage Card builder
Interact with the Access Card Builder. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Look at the card in your inventory and note the Identifier code. Ours is 2966085 but yours might be different.
  • Now, note the barcode on the back. You might want to take a photo of it in case it’s different to ours.
Rivage Amaad's ID card
Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Use the small lever on the base of the machine to open the card slot, and put in the access card. First, type in the Identifier code – the seven-digit number on the front of the card.
  • Now, you need to recreate the barcode, filling in the three damaged numbers we cannot see.

How to complete the barcode puzzle in Rivage

  • To recreate the access card, you need to figure out how each number translates to a barcode image.
  • Every number in the barcode is made up of six notches: three at the top, and three at the bottom.
  • The top notches represent 1, 2 and 3 from left to right, and for these numbers, the bars on the bottom are only filled in if there’s nothing at the top (no full bar can be empty).
  • The bottom row entirely filled in equals 5. So to make every other number, simply fill in the required 1, 2 or 3 above. For example, a 9 equals 5 + 1 + 3, so the whole bottom row is filled in, along with the first and third notch of the top row.
  • You can see a key to each number below:
Rivage barcodes
Image: GameSpew
  • Once you’ve inputted the correct barcode, close the card slot and scan the card to generate a new, repaired card. Once it’s done, pick it up and scan the barcode on the back to add it to your K9.
  • That’s used the last of the power, so go to the storage room off the kitchen and interact with the Time Trickster arcade machine again to begin a new loop.

Access the computer in the Lobby and gain Contactless access

  • The new card gives us level 2 access, so this time, go to the kitchen then turn right to open the Lobby door.
Rivage Lobby
Go to the Lobby. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Walk down the corridor and up the stairs. Interact with the voice recorder and press the central button to listen to the file.
Voice recorder Rivage
You’ll find plenty of these voice recorders to listen to throughout Rivage. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Head over to the Horizon Probe display and listen to the audio. Note the name of the inventor – Igor. Look at the computer screen – the password hint tells us it’s the first name and last name of the Horizon Probe’s creator. So we need a surname.
  • Across from the Probe is another display stand with a rock, but this one is powered down. Go around to the back of the unit and open the hatch to reveal circuitry.
  • You need to input the fuses in the right place to light up the circuits and ensure everything leading to the centre equals the voltage indicated on the key at the side (for us, it’s 12V). Our solution is below.
Rivage Lobby circuit puzzle
Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Once you’ve got the correct voltage, the display will power on. Go around to the front and play the audio. However – it’s sped up too fast; we can’t hear it.
  • Go over to the table with a ‘2’ sign on it. Read the note: it seems everything near the circle drawn on the floor gets slowed down. Open up your K9 and play the recording again: it’ll be regular speed this time.
  • Listen for the surname here: Petrov.
  • Go to the PC and type in igorpetrov as the password.
  • On the PC, click the wireless signal, and ‘update K9’. Scan the barcode shown on screen by pressing X/A.
  • You’ve now got contactless navigation.
  • Approach the Connector door and it will open automatically.
Rivage Connector door
Head into the Connector. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Go through the door and turn right. When you reach a cube, interact with it to listen to the voice recording.
  • Turn left to head towards a large round window. Listen to the recording device on the table here. Look at the journal on the table opposite. Note the name of the soda cans here – Cosmik! – you’ll need it later.
  • Elsewhere in the Connector is a password-protected Laboratory. We need a password (the hint is “Aion’s Class”), and also 2x power to open the door, so we’ll come back later.

Access Amaan’s PC and get the HyperViolet light

  • Make your way back to the corridor where your bedroom is. Keep going past your own door and you’ll find Amaan’s door. Approach it to open it.
Amaan's door Rivage
Screenshot: GameSpew
  • There are some notes to look at in here, as well as a voice recording, but to do anything else, we’re going to need the power. Go to the arcade machine to start a new loop.
  • Open the bottom drawer in the small brown chest on the desk. Take out a disc and use it on the blue disc player on top of the chest of drawers.
  • Go into Amaan’s room. Interact with his computer. The forgot password hint is “favourite soda”. The soda cans we found earlier in the Connector are the clue. Type in cosmik! (with the exclamation mark).
  • Open up the Terminal.
  • Examine the notes dotted around the room. The first one you need is on the desk. In the Terminal, type build hyperviolet.qb and press enter.
  • Now, you need to reference page 14, which is found on the desk across from the PC. We need to copy the flashlight execution to our own K9. So type into the terminal copy flashlight.exe miranda.v and press enter.
  • You now have a HyperViolet light, which you can toggle on and off with ‘up’ on your d-pad. With it turned on, you’ll see writing all across Amaan’s walls.

Gain Multi-Pass access

  • Head into the Connector and go look at Amaan’s journals with the HV light turned on. There are two new pages of text you couldn’t read before. He mentions a card in the machine. It’s an access card in the vending machine in the Pod Bay – we need to figure out how to get it.
  • Head to the Pod Bay. Open Amaan’s locker, read the correspondence on the tablet and pick up the disc. You can take this back to Miranda’s room to listen to it at any point before you end the loop.
  • Use the HV light on the locked board next to the vending machine. The unlock pattern shows up – follow it to access the Stock Manager.
Rivage Stock Manager password
Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Before we can use the Stock Manager to add credits to the vending machine, we need to order missing stock, and do to that, we need to find product numbers of the missing products.

How to use the Stock Manager in Rivage

Once you’ve got Amaan’s HV light, you can unlock the Stock Manager machine in the Pod Bay to reorder stock and refill credits in the vending machines.

To refill the stock, you need to find the ‘CP’ numbers of the products in question. They can be found by looking at product packaging of items found around the station.

  • Chips (LA4QS010): Found on Amaan’s noticeboard using the HV light – CP687575
  • Can of soda (CK98ED81): The can of Cosmik found on Amaan’s desk in the Connector – CP379087
  • Candy bar (MR09D314): Order a ‘Mr Lime’ bar from the vending machine in the Kitchen – CP208674

Note: Given we know the game can randomise some numbers, yours might vary, so do find the products yourself to check.

Only once you’ve got all numbers in place can you hit ‘Confirm’. You can now hit the ‘+’ buttons next to the credit count for each vending machine.

Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Once you’ve added credit to the vending machine in the Pod Bay, use the vending machine to retrieve the access card – type in slot 024.
  • Retrieve the card out of the slot. Turn it over and scan the barcode to add it to your K9.

The Garage/Get an extra power cell

  • You can now access the Garage via the door in the Pod Bay.
  • Go through the door and interact with the cube that appears to listen to a voice recording.
  • Go up the ladder and follow the pathway around. You’ll find a voice recorder on a table. Listen to the recording.
  • Keep going until you find a computer desk. There’s a disc to pick up here and another voice recorder to listen to.
  • Go down the ladder and walk straight forward up a set of steps. Pull the lever. It will open up a device with four slots that need to be filled. Put the disc in one of the slots.
Rivage Scout lever
Pull this lever to reveal the Scout. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • You’ll find the missing three items down on the lower floor of the garage. Find them and put them in the device one by one. When you’ve got them all, close the device.
  • Go back up the ladder.
  • Interact with the large window/screen next to the PC. It will make a map appear.
Rivage Scout map
You’ll need to guide the Scout around this map. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • This part is a bit tricky: you need to guide a scout around parts of the map in order to pick up all six data points and get back to the starting position. You don’t need to get them in order. Be aware that red points will decrease your scout’s health while green points will enhance it – and you can never go below ‘1’ health.

The correct scout path in Rivage

Below is the path we sent the Orbital Scout on. Beware that some elements of Rivage are randomised for each game, so there’s as chance the points of the map may be different.

ARES > SCRP-01 > SCRP-02 > AST-AR1 > SDT-11 > X-248 > K-1066 > BTH-12 > DATA-04 > NNS-7 > RE-005 > VAN-26 > ARK-18 > X-303 > TIE-1 > DATA-01 > ORB-2 > OA-9 > AQ-94 > GW-11 > AW-13 > SHFT-1 > DATA-06 > ATV-3 > SA-X > MVL-30 > VR-M > DATA-03 > I2B-0 > ORE-X > NH-9 > DATA-02 > ORB-D > CXO-X > ZX-22 > XM-R > ZX-2A > Data-05 > SAS-11 > MA-6 > MER-A > AUOS > RD-004 > ARES

  • Once you’ve completed a full loop on the scout map, passing through all data points, the button to send out the Orbital Scout will turn green. Press it and wait a short while, and it’ll come back with a recording. Play the recording, and it’ll automatically be added to your K9.
  • Go the ladder and pick up the NAKO Controller that’s near the PC. This has six buttons on it that each play a sound. The six sounds are the same as the Particle Waves recording you’ve just made – you need to work out which order the sounds are played in. For us, the order is 5, 2, 1, 4, 3, 6.
Horizon Probe Rivage
Play the sounds for Horizon Probe in the right order. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Once you’ve figured out the order, go to the lobby and stand in front of the Horizon Probe. Play the sounds back from the controller in the order you’ve just uncovered.
  • It will now project an element onto the wall. Take a screenshot of it.
  • We need to return to the Garage, but we need power, so start a new loop.
  • In the Garage, go back up the ladder and interact with the PC next to the map.
  • You need to recreate the element structure from the Probe’s projection. Once you’ve correctly copied it, press ‘Confirm and Close’.
Rivage Garage PC
Copy the pattern from Horizon Probe to unlock the PC. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • You can now access the audio files and messages on the PC.
  • There’s a key email from Johnny Kim here that has a password to access the power box in the kitchen. Our password is 523076.

Go to the Observatory

  • Start a new loop to ensure you’ve got enough power.
  • Go to the kitchen and input the password on the locked power box followed by OK. Take out the power cell inside. Note that you’ll always need to take the power cell out for every new loop – but once you’ve put the password in once, it’ll automatically unlock for future uses.

  • Place the power cell in the Power Relay box just to your left and pull down the handle. You’ll now have an additional power charge.
  • Head to the Observatory. Go through the Lobby and the Connector to get there.
  • Inside, you’ll find a recording device on a coffee table. Listen to it.
  • Interact with the PC. There’s a photo of Jahi’s ID card – this will probably be handy so take a photo of it. Read the messages.
  • Look at the medical file on the table – the post-it has a password on it. We’ll need this to access a PC in the kitchen.
Rivage Planta password
We’ll need this password to access the Planta Center PC. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Also look at the notes about plants on the tablet here. These might come in useful, so make a note.
  • Go up the steps and listen to the cube recording.
  • To the right, turn a handle which will begin a projection playback.
  • Look at the laptop on the table opposite.

Access the Planta Center PC

  • Start a new loop.
  • Go into the kitchen, and on the Dock System, choose Cultivation.
  • Type in the password found on the medical note in the Observatory. Ours was “3URV0”.
  • Add to the sequencer Escargot, Fire Lily and Mavors. Check the Latin names of each plant – these are the three mentioned on the tablet in the Observatory.
  • When all three are selected, press ‘Start Sequencing’.
  • You need to input all three sequences into the grid. Our solution is below.
  • You’ll be given information about Aion, the plant synthesised by Amaan. You’ll need to take note of its class: Chronoservus.

Access the laboratory and find Johnny Kim’s fingerprint

  • Start a new loop.
  • Go to the Kitchen and get the power fuse and put it in the box just to your left to get an extra charge.
  • Go through to the Lobby and the Connector, and then approach the Lab door.
  • The password hint is “Aion’s class” – so input Chronoservus. You’ll now have access to the Lab.
  • Walk around to the left of the room and you’ll find a cube recording to listen to.
  • Our main goal in the lab is to find Johnny Kim’s fingerprint. There are several crew members’ fingerprints here, but we need to focus on Johnny’s (marked with ‘JK’).
  • There are two puzzles to solve to get two fingerprint parts. The first involves finding four switches.
  • One is near the door, two are on the desk across from the laptop and one is in a drawer next to the large computer monitor.
  • Take them one by one to the circuitbreaker device. Pull the handle to turn it on. You need to place the switches in the right place and turn them on so that the total matches the number displayed on the machine. For us, that number was 708, and we achieved it by placing two switches at the top left and two at the bottom left. Once you’ve got it right, the device will open, revealing a viewfinder. JK fingerprint 1 is found here.
Rivage Lab switch puzzle
Once you’ve found all four switches, place them and turn them on so the top number equals the bottom number. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • There’s a recording device next to the laptop. Listen to it.
  • Look at the laptop and read the messages between Rafael and Johnny – Rafael’s drawings hold the key to a safe padlock. This is another puzzle to solve.
  • There are two drawings from Rafael, both can be found on sideboards in the lab.
  • Note the symbols in the bottom left corner of each page.
  • Find the safe in the lab. It’s a cylindrical object in a cupboard down from the door.
  • Copy the two symbols into the the squares on the safe – the top shape comes from slide 1, and the bottom shape comes from slide 2.
Rivage
Use the symbols from Rafael’s drawings to unlock the safe in the Lab. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • When you’ve inputted them both in correctly, press ‘Unlock’. Pick up the object inside and find a fingerprint on top of it. Scan it to find JK fingerprint 2.
Rivage JK fingerprint
JK’s fingerprint, found in the safe. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • The final two fingerprints could be in a number of random locations across the lab – it seems their positions are randomised for every playthrough. We have found fingerprints in the following locations:
    • A tiny bottle near a sink to the right of a PC monitor
    • A handle on the floor near the laptop
    • A syringe near one of Rafael’s drawings
    • A chemical bottle in a cupboard
    • A rubber duck on the floor
    • A microscope in the cupboard
    • A strange-shaped piece of a equipment on a worktop to the left of the door
    • A shard of broken bottle on the floor
  • See photos of them below:
  • Now, go start a new loop.

Use Johnny Kim’s fingerprint

  • Go to the kitchen and collect the power cell from the locked case. Keep it on you.
  • Head to the Observatory – go through the Lobby and the Connector to get there.
  • Go to the power relay machine and insert the power cell. Pull down the lever.
Rivage Observatory power relay

  • Press the fingerprint scanner to have it read Johnny Kim’s recreated fingerprint. The machine will now power on.
  • Head down the floor to solve a puzzle. This one is tricky, but once you understand the rules it isn’t too bad.

How to solve the light puzzle in the Observatory in Rivage

Once you’ve activated the power generator, you can complete a light/power puzzle in the Observatory.

The goal here is to route ‘2’ power to the large pylon on the right-hand side of the area. By moving the light beams to the smaller pylons, you can then rotate tiles on the floor to flow electricity from one tile to the other.

Two of the smaller pylons have ‘+’ signs next to them, meaning they start with a positive electronic charge. You need to route the light beams to both of these to power them up.

Make a route on the floor to reach the large pylon – it will light up with two green lights once it’s correct. Our video below will show you how we got there, but it took some trial and error!

  • With the puzzle completed, go back up the stairs and activate by pulling the lever.
Rivage observatory lever
Pull the lever to open the window. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • This will open the window, revealing a star. In turn, this will power on the solar-powered laptop behind you. Go interact with the laptop and read through the documents stored on here.
  • Open up Stereoscope.pic and you’ll see the reverse of a Level 03 access card – take a screenshot, you’re going to need that!
  • The Complication.txt file also mentions that Jahi has a train pass in his locker. We need to recreate Jahi’s pass now.

Recreate Jahi’s pass and gain Level 3 access

  • Start a new loop. Go to the kitchen, take the power cell out of the lock box and place it in the power box on the wall.
  • We need to use the Access Card Builder, but to do that we need to have a broken card. The only one we know of is in Amaan’s lock box.
  • Get the key out of Miranda’s Locker in the Pod Bay, then use the Dock System in the kitchen to select Cultivation. Assemble the key to open the box, and take out Amaan’s pass.
  • Go into the Pod Bay and use the Access Card Builder.
  • First, enter the Card Identifier found on the front of Jahi’s card – we found this photo on the PC in the Observatory.

  • Open the card slot at the bottom of the machine and place in Amaan’s pass. Close the card slot.
  • Press ‘Print Pass’. Once Jahi’s card is printed, scan the barcode on the back to add it to your K9.
  • Go to the lockers in the Pod Bay and open Jahi’s. Pick up the Train Pass and scan the sim card on the back of it to add it to your K9.
  • There’s also a disc to pick up here – grab it, and take it to Miranda’s room to listen to it.

Use the train system

  • Start a new loop.
  • In Miranda’s room, interact with the panel at the side of the large screen and open it up. You’ll be presented with what looks like a circuit board of lots of colours. It looks complicated, but you need to move around coloured nodules to complete the equations so you end up with the colour laid out on the right. The first three colours minus the second two colours must equal the correct colour. Not every node needs to be filled in. Our solution is below.

  • Watch the video that plays on the large screen and take note of the sponsors that appear on the end: Starvision, Vulcan Dynamics, Atlantic and Vizer.
  • Go to the kitchen and take the power cell out of the lock box and keep it in your inventory.
  • Go to the garage and up the ladder.
  • Place the power cell in the power relay next to the train system doors, and pull the lever down.

Travel to the laboratory via train

  • Enter the train. Look at the note and listen to the audio recording.
  • Choose to travel to the Laboratory.
  • Step out of the train and listen to the cube recording.
  • There’s another audio recording to be found across the other side of the walkway.
  • Interact with the ladder to move it down.

  • Go down the ladder.
  • There are two PCs in the Lab. One is open, and you can look at the files on here. The other is password protected. The clue is “ARES sponsor”. The password must be one of the companies listed on the video presentation – for us, it was vizer. Read through the files on here. There’s also a tool to use the microwave device, but we don’t know what that’s for yet.
  • Go back up the ladder and pick up the data disk from the desk in front of the train doors.

  • Go into the train, and place this in the space where Miranda’s note currently sits. It seems this particular spot is protected between loops, allowing you to dupliate an item.

Travel to the lobby via train

  • Go start a new loop.
  • Return to the train, being sure to pick up the power cell on your way.
  • Travel to the Lobby.
  • Pick up the Data Disk.
  • Insert the Data Disk on the slot on the desk.

  • Look through the documents it brings up.
  • Take note of Microwave.phm – we’ll need the settings it lists here for the microwave in the Lab. The information on the Cube page might be useful too, so keep a note of that.
Rivage Cube information
Keep a note of the information regarding the Cubik Cube. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Open up map.pic. There’s a puzzle to solve here.

How to solve the map.pic puzzle in Rivage

  • Open up the map.pic file and you’ll find corrupted information. Everything you need to solve it is close by, though, so this one is fairly easy to do.
  • The numbers that are red under the “Damaged File” banner can be clicked on and altered. Using the ‘metadata’ listed at the right-hand side, you can figure out what letters are missing. The file “.metadata” provides this information in full if you aren’t sure off the top of your head.
  • Each number/letter combination in the encoded text column is simply an encoded version of the decoded text listed on the right. So the top half of the map.pic file is a key to what each letter/symbol converts to. A is 61, B is 62, / is 2F and so on.
  • To finish the puzzle, however, you’ll need to put in the password. Behind the computer is a drawing on the wall that has a code on it – this is the password.

You’ll find the password written on this drawing. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Once you’ve got all the numbers in correctly, press “Reconstruct”. The finished solution should look like this:

  • After you’ve completed the puzzle and hit “Reconstruct”, you’ll get another drawing, with a coloured grid. This looks like something we’ve seen in the garage… Take a note of the pattern, as you’ll need this shortly. Also take note of the evidence number shown in the image – ours was ‘4’ as you can see below.

Go back to the Lab via the train

  • Now, pick up the Containment Key from the desk and place it in the duplicator spot on the train.
  • Before you head back, there’s a Disc to pick up at the other side of the Lab platform. You can pick this up and play in Miranda’s room.
  • Start a new loop and, as always, pick up the power cell from the kitchen on your way to the Garage.
  • This time, use the train to go back to the Laboratory. Pick up the Containment Key and go use it on the central console in the Lab.

  • Click ‘Download to K9’ to grant yourself permanent access. Then click ‘Release’.
  • Go down the ladder and interact with the structure that’s just been released. Pull open the hatch.
  • Take out a gear with four limbs and go back to the train. Place the gear on the duplicator pad and go back to the garage.

  • Start a new loop.
  • Go back to the Lab via the train and pick up the gear you placed on the pad.
  • Use the panel again (the data is now saved to your K9) and hit ‘Release’. Go down the ladder and interact with the gear panel.
  • Place the new gear you’ve created into the grid. Turn on your HV light: you’ll see the “solution” to the puzzle at the bottom. Essentially, you need to get the gears in the right place so that each time they turn, by 1/6, clockwise, the correct parts of the puzzle are connected.
Rivage cog puzzle
Use your HV light to see the cog puzzle’s ‘solution’. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • So, to begin with, you need to make sure there’s a route that connects each of the square, triangle and circle at least once. On the second turn, only the triangle and circle should be connected, the third turn the square and the triangle, and so on. This was our solution, but beware that your own pattern might differ:

  • Once you’ve got them in the right place, pull the lever. Go back up the ladder and on the panel, click “open”.
  • A red box will appear on a table ahead of you. Go look in it and make a note of the pattern on the leaflet inside.

Find the cube and get Level 4 access

  • Start a new loop and return to the garage again.
  • Next to the PC on the ground floor of the garage is a locked box with a coloured grid on it. Click the coloured squares to change them to the colours that match Rafael’s drawing found on the Lobby PC.
Rivage Garage safe solution
Copy Rafael’s drawing to unlock this safe in the Garage. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Inside, you’ll find the cube!
  • Remember that Rafael’s drawing had an evidence number on it? Those numbers match a specific location around the station. For us, number 4 matches the yellow chalk circle on the ground floor of the Garage. There are more to be found – primarily one in the Lobby and one in the Connector.
  • Go stand in the yellow chalk circle with the evidence number that matches the number you saw in Rafael’s drawing. If you’re in the right area, you’ll notice the cube glowing when you get it out.

You’ll need to stand in one of these evidence circles with the cube to use it. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Get the note from Rafael that we found in the red box in the Lab. This has a specific pattern to follow. Each ‘pie’ on the pattern represents an edge/corner of the cube, and the coloured-in section denotes the side that you need to press. Complete the pattern while you’re stood in the circle.

Each circle (or “pie”) represents a corner of the cube. The solid coloured segment represents the side that you need to press. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • You’ll be transported to the Shed – Rafael’s hiding place. There’s a voice recording to listen to here, and you’ll also find Rafael’s ID card. Pick it up and scan it, adding it to your K9. You now have level 4 access.
  • Make any move with the Cubik Cube to teleport back to the garage.
  • Go open Rafael’s locker in the Pod Bay. Scan the barcode to install a calendar update to your K9 – this now tells you the time that certain events happen.
  • There’s also a Disc in here. Pick it up and listen to it in Miranda’s room.

Visit the Greenhouse and open the chest

  • Now we have Level 4 access, we can go to the Greenhouse.
  • Start a new loop and go to the Lab via the train. (Remember to pick up the Power Cell as you go past).
Rivage Greenhouse door
Go through the Greenhouse door. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Open the Greenhouse door from the Lab floor. Listen to the cube recording here.
  • We need to open the chest in here. It requires three symbols to be inputted on the front of it. Each symbol is a different colour: yellow, green and blue.
  • Look at the panel in the centre of the room with a sun/moon symbol. You can turn the dial to change the position of the sun, and flip the switch to change between day and night. First, change the position of the sun so the greenish-blue locker with a sun symbol on it opens up. It will open when the sun is shining on it.

This panel can change the position of the sun and also change between day and night. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Inside is a book of constellations. You’ll need that in a second.
  • Use the dial to flip to night time. Press the constellation button and look up at the sky – you’ll see three constellations in three different colours. These are the key to opening the box.
Rivage constellations
Scan the sky to find three different constellations. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Note the constellations seen in the sky and look them up in the book. Each one has a unique symbol. Find the symbols that relate to each constellation and copy it onto the chest, making sure to match the colours. When you’ve got all three right, the chest will open. You’ll see our solution below, but your constellations may be different.
  • Take out the handle from inside.

Grab the handle from inside the chest. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • We can use this handle to access Jahi’s room.

Access Jahi’s room

  • Use the train to leave the Greenhouse/Lab and return to the Garage. Go to the end of the bedroom corridor and use the handle in the panel on the wall to access Jahi’s bedroom.
Rivage Access Jahi's room
Place the handle in this wall panel across from Jahi’s door. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Explore Jahi’s bedroom. There are some more pages for the Q-Bit manual like we’ve found in Amaan’s bedroom earlier. These might be useful, so keep a note for later. There are two audio logs to listen to, too.
  • One of these audio logs mentions a watch that stopped the day Jahi was born. You’ll find a watch in a box – note the date shown on it. We can use this to access Jahi’s safe.
  • Interact with the safe and first input /000/. Then, put the birth date as seen on the watch. For us, that’s 21/09/2426.
  • Inside is a vinyl. Miranda has a record player in her room, so go and play the vinyl on it. This will save a music film – Impressionism – to your K9.

You can play the record found in Jahi’s room here. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • There’s a clock on the table that Jahi has been working on. It seems we need to put the right cogs in.

How to solve the clock puzzle in Jahi’s room in Rivage

The clock on the table is missing seven cogs. There’s a diagram on the wall that tells you exactly what cogs need to go in the clock.

Jahi clock puzzle Rivage
Look at the diagram on the wall to find the correct cogs you need. Screenshot: GameSpew

The correct cogs can be found in other clocks dotted around Jahi’s room. There are two on the wall next to the diagram, one at the top of Jahi’s bed, a panel on the side of the grandfather clock, one on the bookshelf between the main door and the bathroom door, and one to the right of the safe.

You can pick up any cog to examine the numbers on it. On the wall chart, the numbers appear as, i.e. 60/15. On the cogs, this will be written as 15 < 60.

You can insert the cogs in any order, as long as they’re in the right position. Once you’ve got them all, turn the handle. Time will move backwards, repairing Jahi’s broken PC.

  • Now, interact with Jahi’s PC and look through the files. Open the terminal. You’ll need to make use of the Q-Bit manual pages we’ve found here.

How to use the Terminal on Jahi’s PC

  • Type in LS. This will bring up a list of files on the PC.
  • Next, type asroot extract database_piece.qpak.
  • Then, cat readme.note. This will tell you what to do next.
  • Type in build datalensinstaller.qb.
  • Next, just datalens.exe and OK.
  • Then train_components_list.dtl.

This will give you a list of four components: Sensor, Conduit, Chip and Memory. Take a screenshot – you’ll need this information to use a manufacturing tool in the Garage. But we’ll need some more information first.

Stop the weekly PC update

  • Remember you got given a calendar update for your K9? It has three important times on it: a Garage waste purge at 09:34, the Kitchen incinerator at 09:34:30, and a PC update at 09:34:50. You basically need to stop that PC update, which means you have to do a series of tasks in two minutes and 50 seconds, given that your own loop begins at 09:32.
  • We’d recommend practicing this, particular the security puzzles on Rafael’s computer, before attempting to do it in a 2:50 run.
  • The first step is to go to Rafael’s room and disable the security on the Garage waste. Interact with his PC and click the red icon. There are two security puzzles to solve, that look like this:
Rivage firewall puzzle
You’ll need to solve two of these as quickly as possible. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Essentially, you start with a set number of moves (often 10) and need to make your way from the yellow computer icon to a orange key item, and then to an orange ‘firewall’ icon. The number on each tile represents how many moves it will cost to get there. If you run out of moves you need to try again. Each screen is randomised, so you can keep hitting your left shoulder button until you’re given a grid where the computer and the key appear close to each other. As you move around you can collect more moves (on the green wrench icons) and shields (the blue icon) which you can enable to protect you from using any moves (i.e. move to a ’10’ with a shield enabled, and you’ll lose your shield but keep all your moves intact).
  • Once you’ve done both Firewall puzzles, click to connect to Acebin, and disable the security.
  • Next, go to the kitchen and install the Power Cell in the relay box. Go through the Garage door and hit the button on the garbage to open it. Take the key from inside.

  • Go to the Lobby and insert the USB drive into the PC here. Open up Janus and stop the PC update. Phew – you can stop rushing.
  • Now, go back to the Kitchen and use the Dock System to open up the Robot Area. Jahi’s laptop is here, and it should finally be accessible. Open up the Blueprint and download it to your K9. We now have everything we need to create the Gravity Generator for the train.

  • Look at the rest of the documents on the PC before starting a new loop.

Make the Gravity Generator and travel to the Fusion Core

  • Go to the Garage and interact with the Assembly machine.

You can make the Gravity Generator for the train here. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Use the components list found on Jahi’s PC in his room to begin assembling parts. For us, it’s Sensor, Conduit, Chip and Memory.
  • Now, the Blueprint found on the laptop tells us the three items we need to insert into the machine: Copper, Silicon and Ethanol.

Put in all the items and press Assemble. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Once everything is inserted, press “Assemble”. Wait for the machine to print then take the part out of the machine.
  • Head to the train (remember you’ll need to unlock it with a power cell) and place the new part you’ve created in the gap in the train’s wiring.

  • You can now choose to travel to the Fusion Core. Go there.
  • Go through the Fusion Core door. On the left, you’ll find Jonny Kim’s ID badge. Scan the barcode. You’ve now got Level 5 access.

  • Move forward towards the broken bridge and interact with the cube recording.
  • Go back through the train and you can reach an upper level of the Greenhouse. Listen to the recording device here.
  • We’ve seen everything here, so start a new loop.
  • Now we have Jonny’s ID card, open his door. Go through the portal. It will teleport you to the other side of the broken bridge in the Fusion Core.
Rivage portal
Use this portal in Jonny Kim’s door. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Interact with the console. Select “Pods”, then unlock Pod 01. Use the handle to the right of the screen to unlock it.
  • Go back through the portal and into the Pod Bay. Interact with the screen at the side of Pod 01 to enter it.

That’s it: you’ve completed Rivage, and we hope you found our walkthrough helpful.
