The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline walkthrough – Full guide, puzzle solutions and collectibles

Available now on PC and consoles, The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline is the latest title from One-O-One Games, the studio that previously brought us The Suicide of Rachel Foster. Based around The Divine Comedy, however, this is something entirely different: dark in a whole new way, and with a greater focus on puzzles. It’s very puzzly, in fact, which is why we’ve put together a The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline walkthrough.
If you get stuck, you’ll find a guide to all the puzzle solutions in The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline below. We’ve also included a collectibles guide, laying out the location of seven hidden diary pages that can be found around the house, giving an extra layer of narrative. This isn’t a very long game, and you’ll be able to complete it in just a few hours – but it’s fun while it lasts. We hope you enjoy it, and find our walkthrough helpful.
Head to the Fumoir and give Dalila a call
- Head through the door straight ahead, then through the winter garden. Go straight forward through the door ahead to reach the Fumoir – a living area.
- Head down the steps and veer slightly right – the phone is on a desk in front of a window against the wall. Use the phone.

Find the key in the library
- Leave the Fumoir through the door on the left. Walk straight ahead to the end of the corridor and then turn left to go through a door that leads to the library. If you get lost, a map is available (touch pad on PS5).
- Head right and you’ll find the key on the table. Pick it up.

Get to the Crypt and open the Portal
- Go back the way you came, heading back to the Fumoir. Go up the stairs and through the door on the far wall, which leads down into the basement.
- At the bottom of the stairs, go through the door on the left, then follow more stairs down to reach the crypt. Approach the altar to trigger a cutscene.

Find the 3 statues and activate the portal
- The first statue is a leopard, in the hallway between the library and the winter garden.
- The second statue is a she-wolf, found in the winter garden in a corner next to a flowerbed.
- The third statue is a lion, found in the Fumoir on the upper level near the door to the basement.
- Once you’ve got all three statues, go back to the crypt and interact with the altar.
Enter the portal
- Go through the portal.
- Complete the quick time event by pressing the correct sequence of buttons.
Continue on the path
- Follow the path. You’ll eventually reach a plane – crouch under its wing to continue. Further along the path you’ll find a plane ticket. Pick it up.

- You’ll eventually reach a small tunnel to crawl through. Keep going until you reach a portal with thick red veins coming from it. It’s a very long path.
Explore the area and solve the trial

- Follow the red vines to find portraits dotted along the paths. There are 14 altogether. Finding them will populate portraits on the boards next to the portal, which will be your solution to the puzzle.
- You don’t need to find them all to solve the puzzle, but it makes it much easier to figure out if you do.
How to solve the seven deadly sins portal puzzle in The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline
- The portal has eight circles around it, each split into two with two images. One of the circles is intentionally blank.
- The circles are numbered I to VII, and each one needs to contain one of the seven deadly sins, and also the sin’s opposite.
- If you’ve found all the portraits, matching the sin to its opposite is easy: the boards are literally opposite each other.
- To find the order of the sins, read the stone slate to the left side of the portal.

- To arrange the circles correctly, make use of the empty circle. Get the seven deadly sins in the correct place first (the red segments), then work on their counterparts.
- The correct placement is as follows:
- Lust – Cheetah / Chastity – Deer
- Gluttony – Pig / Temperance – Squirrel
- Greed – Wolf / Charity – Dog
- Wrath – Bull / Patience – Elephant
- Sloth – Donkey / Diligence – Horse
- Envy – Snake / Kindness – Bird
- Pride – Lion / Humility – Sheep

- After correctly aligning the symbols, you’ll find yourself back in the crypt.
Reach the Fumoir and call Dalila
- Go to the Fumoir and use the phone.
Return to the Portal
- Go back to the Crypt and interact with the portal.
- You’ll need to complete another quick time event – press the correct buttons at the correct time.
Find the next trial
- Follow the path through the underworld. After crawling through a cave, you’ll come to a broken bridge. You can’t cross, so turn right just after the cave and follow the path down.
- Keep moving forward; as you see some fallen pillars, dialogue should kick in, beginning your next trial.
Clear the path through the pillars to proceed
- Pass under the fallen pillars, then make your way around a large crater.

- Go through some large, open gates and then keep moving forward. As the voice says, walk even though there’s no path there.
- You can freely walk anywhere in this area. Head to the first pillar with a red wheel on top. Turn it.
- Move to the next two pillars just ahead, and turn both of those too. You’ll see the flow of people changing below you.

- Move across to the fourth wheel and turn that, and then head for the fifth and final wheel. Turn that one too.
- You should see a stone nearby – stand on it. This is an elevator that will take you back to the ground level. Once on the ground, move right through a large open gate.
- Move down the path. You’ll eventually reach a scene very similar to before: a scene that you can walk over to turn the pillars.
- Follow the path of the people below you. Leave the first pillar where it is, but turn the second pillar you reach.
- Continue following the stream of people. Turn the next pillar you reach, and then the next. That will send the people through the portal.

- Head to the lift that’s just moved upwards near the point where you started.
- Once on the ground, move around the edge of the area (you can’t pass through the stream of people) to reach the open gate with the large orange ‘eye’.
Follow the path
- Move forward, following the path. You’ll need to crouch through some low caves.
- Eventually, a cutscene will kick in. Once it’s finished, you’ll find yourself back in the crypt.
Make sure Dalila is alright
- Go up to the Fumoir to use the phone.
Go to the Dive and face the ancestor
- Go back to the crypt and interact with the portal.
- Once again, you’ll need to complete the quick time event by pressing the buttons at the right time. This one’s trickier than the others, but if you fail you’ll simply start again.
- Walk forward to begin a cutscene.
Overcome the challenge to leave the Dive
- Once you’re out of the cutscene, walk forward. You’ll need to pass underneath fallen columns and eventually will enter a large cave with golden structures.
- Follow the golden strands, starting with the rightmost one. You can’t do anything here yet, but listen to the tune. There are five notes: pay close attention to their pitch and the order they play in.
- Now follow the left strand, and it’ll lead you to five statues, all in different height order. If the statues represent low to high notes, you need to interact with them in the order of the tune.
- Each statue has a roman numeral carved onto it, so interact with them in the following order: I, IX, V, X and II.
- Now go back and follow the other golden strand, and follow the path all the way down to interact with the clock mechanism.
- Each clock hand is a different size, with the longest hand representing the highest statue and the shortest hand representing the lowest. The cog on the left controls the longest hand, getting smaller moving right. Start with the left cog and turn each hand so they’re pointing as follows: IX, I, X, V and II.

- Now go back to the central location and interact with the hand print.

- After the short cutscene, wait for the golden circle behind the statue to stop spinning and, once you can, move through the doorway.
- Pass by the table then make your way through the dark area and ascend a set of stairs.
Answer the phone
- After a cutscene, you’ll find yourself back in the crypt. Go up the stairs and to the Fumoir to answer the phone.
Search the Archive for the document
- The Archive is a room off the library, so head there. The door is at the top of the library, near the seating area. But it’s locked – so we need to find the key.
Where to find the key to the Archive in The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline
- Take a look at the chess board in the library, and note the locations of the pieces: we’re calling them E2, D3, C6 and F7. Also note the symbols in the corner of the board.

- Now, go look on the sides of the large chest in the library. Each side has half a chess board, with each side showing two of the symbols as seen on the chess board.
- We need to click select two tiles on each side, corresponding to the location of the pieces on the chess board.
- So, on the side of the chest closest to the chess board, press E2 and D3.

- On the other side of the chest, press C2 and F3.

- This has now opened a dial on the front of the chest.
- Look at the clock next to the chess board: the white clock is pointing to VI, and the black clock is pointing to IX.
- On the chest, move the dial so the arrow in the outer white section is pointing to VI. Move the black dial so it’s pointing to IX.

- Take the key out of the chest.
- Unlock the Archive and go inside.
- Inspect the document on the desk straight in front.

- Pick up the two pieces of paper on the shelf to the right.
Call Dalila for an explanation
- Go to the Fumoir and use the phone.
- After you pass out, wake up and turn around. Head up the steps of the Fumoir, and you’ll see that something has changed very drastically outside the door. Go through.
Find a way to escape the Dive

- The gate to the left is locked, so make your way along the right-hand path. You’ll pass a car, and eventually talk to the giant Charon. Keep going until a cutscene kicks in.
- After the cutscene, go through the door that was glowing green.
Track down the source of the voice

- This is hands-down the hardest puzzle in the game, and we’re not entirely sure why the solution is what it is. You’ll find yourself in a room with nine candles and four doors. You don’t need to do anything with the candles. What you do need to pay attention to are the images on the banners, and the symbols above the doors.
- Each of the four doors has a symbol above it: straight ahead is a sun, next to that is a sunrise/sunset, behind you is a moon, and last is what we’re calling a disc.
- Essentially, you need to match the image on the banner to a symbol on the door. If you pass through the right door, a new set of banners will appear. There are nine altogether. If you get one wrong, you’ll be taken back to a previous room.
- The correct doors you need to go through are as follows:
- Hourglass – sunset
- Bleeding hand – disc
- Caduceus – sun
- Flowers – moon
- Snake & arrows – disc
- Dagger – sunset
- Key – sun
- Catlike beast – sunset
- Harp – sunset
- Phew. When you’re done, the candle table will disappear. Move through the open door straight ahead. A cutscene will begin.
- After the cutscene, follow the path. You’ll eventually reach a strange red portal. Interact with it.

Touch the pages and awaken the ritual
- Go to the crypt. Some of the doors will be locked, so you will need to make your way through the Winter Garden then the library, and take the back staircase which leads through the basement.
- When you reach the crypt, touch the ritual pages to begin a cutscene.
Note: There seems to be a bug here. After going through the red portal, we first ended in a version of the house that did not let us pass through the library. We restarted, and were taken straight to the crypt. Upon restarting again, we were able to pass through the house as likely intended. We’re not sure if the other version of the house we saw was intentional, and if there’s another puzzle to be solved here, but if you can’t seem to go anywhere, reload the game and try again.
