Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations’ new Slaughter Mode will let you rip and tear forever

Are you disappointed that Doom: The Ages’ demon-murder eventually stops? Then you’ll be happy to hear that this FPS is getting a new endless ‘Slaughter Mode’ which will let you slay to your heart’s content. At least, you will be if you own the game’s Revelations DLC.
As spotted by IGN, the upcoming addition was revealed during a recent Slayers Club Live livestream with game director Hugo Martin. “Tear through escalating rounds of randomized enemies, bosses and arenas as you carve out personal bests,” he explains, adding that there’ll also be weekly challenges.
It’s an intriguing addition to the game. Martin has also confirmed there’ll be checkpoints every ten rounds, so it sounds as if it’s not exactly a permadeath mode. He also said that there’ll be cosmetics to unlock as you make your way through Slaughter Mode.
The one snag is that Slaughter Mode is exclusive to the Doom: The Dark Ages’ Revelations DLC. It’s mildly disappointing that it’s not coming to the base game, though that does already have the Ripatorum. Slaughter Mode doesn’t have a solid release date, but it will be arriving next month, so November 30th at the latest.
