Open-world action RPG Tainted Grail has just received free DLC and a new update

If you’ve played Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon you’ll know that it’s one of the best open-world action RPGs around, with it only getting better since its 2025 launch. In our review we called it “an open-world action RPG that fans of the likes of Skyrim are likely to fall in love with”, and we stand by that. And now it’s just been improved yet again with not only a new update, but also free DLC.

If you own Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you can now claim the Fists of Fury DLC absolutely free. With it installed, you’ll discover a new questline in the game that lets you learn from a legendary fist fighter, and so with that there’s a new weapon category added to the game: fist-fighting weapons. There’s a new skill tree, too, as well as new armour and other items to find. Needless to say, it adds more options and depth to an already rather generous game.

Alongside the free DLC there’s also a new update. Patch 1.30 for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon ekes out yet more performance across consoles and PC, which is always welcome. It also fixes lots of bugs, adds FSR as an upscaling option, and introduces additional settings to tweak.
