Fancy a brand new game in the Warhammer universe? Your wish is Dotemu’s command. The publisher has teamed up with developer Old Skull Games to bring Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster to PC and consoles, with a release slated for sometime in 2027.

Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is a totally standalone, self-contained game, so even if you don’t have the deepest knowledge of Warhammer, you can jump into this without needing to engage with anything else first. It’s a 2D action platformer that’s been inspired by classic action platformers and stealth titles that sees players step into the shoes of killer Ratman Vihneek.

Vihneek has devoted his life to climbing the ranks of the Eshin clan, and he’ll do anything to get to the top. As Vihneek, you’ll need to set traps for your enemies to fall into, sneak through dark corners of the world, and ruthlessly put an end to any Skaven who dare get in your way. As its name suggests, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is built upon the rich lore of Age of Sigmar, but you’ll still be able to enjoy this story without any prior knowledge.

As you’d expect from a Warhammer game, Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster will see you making your way through dark, gritty environments. So, it’s guaranteed there’ll be plenty of grimy, shadowy locations for Vihneek to sneak through, all beautifully steeped in tension and atmosphere.

We’re eager to learn more, but with an unspecified release window at some point in 2027, we might have to wait a while. We’ll be looking out for further announcements from Dotemu, but until then you can keep an eye on the game’s Steam page – and give the trailer a watch below.
