Can You Play Diablo 4 Offline?

Are you wondering if you can play Diablo 4 offline, being connected to the internet? Here’s what you need to know.
The latest game in the Diablo series is finally here, and we love it. In our review, we called it “the best Diablo has ever been”, being bigger than its predecessors, packing in more story than ever, a huge open world and incredibly satisfying character building. There’s only one thing that may raise an eyebrow or two: Diablo 4’s online status. Can you play Diablo 4 offline?
Unfortunately, no. Diablo 4 requires an always-online connection to the Blizzard servers, meaning you cannot play offline. Unlike other Diablo games, Diablo 4 throws you into a world that’s occupied by other players. As you’re travelling around Sanctuary, you’ll see other players going about their business. You might even complete the same random quest at the same time, or engage in a huge world boss mission with them. Because of that, it’s important you’re always connected to the internet.
There are other reasons, too. Rather than being saved to your PC or console, your game data is instead saved to Blizzard’s server. It means that nobody can cheat or manipulate their save. It also means that you can pick up your game on PC, Xbox or PlayStation and carry on where you left off – something we love.
It’s unfortunate if you’re having internet difficulties, but that’s the nature of this type of game. You simply need to be online to play Diablo 4.
