How to Complete The Dread Martyr in Diablo 4
Do you need help completing The Dread Martyr mission in Diablo 4? Here’s what you need to know.
If you’re powering through the side quests in Diablo 4, one of the earliest you’re likely to come across is The Dread Martyr. This is a short and simple mission that you pick up by talking to an injured Sir Cromwell, on the ground just outside the town of Kyovashad.
To begin the mission, you’ll need to engage with Sir Cromwell and choose the “That looks bad” dialogue option. He’ll ask you to avenge him by hunting down and slaying Lord Avitus. Not a problem: killing stuff is what we’re here for, right? Lord Avitus is in a nearby dungeon, and so we’ll need to head there to find him.
The dungeon you’ll find him in is the Hollowed Ossuary, which is east of Kyovashad. You don’t need to complete the dungeon in full to complete The Dread Martyr mission in Diablo 4, although you can if you want. Lord Avitus should be accessible without having to complete any dungeon objectives.
The difficulty of the fight will, of course, scale with your level and the World Tier you’re playing on, but it shouldn’t put up too much of a challenge.
Once Lord Avitus is dead, that’s it: you’ve completed the mission. There’s no need to return to Sir Cromwell to tell him the news. We’re just going to assume he’s already died. RIP.
