How to Fast Travel in Diablo 4

Find out how to get from A to B in Sanctuary quickly with our guide on how to fast travel in Diablo 4.
For the first time, the Diablo series has gone open world. Gone are the smaller, randomised maps of Diablo 3, replaced with a huge, fixed world in Diablo 4. That means travelling around can be a little tiresome, especially when you need to go from one region to another. Thankfully, you can fast travel in Diablo 4, and it’s very easy to do.
To fast travel in Diablo 4, you simply need to open up your map and select a waypoint. To open up your map, press the touchpad on PlayStation, and the ‘view’ button on Xbox. The catch is, of course, you first need to unlock waypoints before you can travel to them.
Every major town has a waypoint, and you’ll find many of them in smaller safe areas, too. Once you’ve completed a stronghold, some of those will give you a waypoint also. Waypoints are stone-built podiums on the ground: to unlock one, stand on it and press the action button. Once they’re unlocked, they’ll appear on your map as a glowing blue swirl.
And so, to choose a waypoint to travel to, simply open your map and move your cursor over to the one you want to go to. Press X (or A on an Xbox controller), and you’ll immediately warp there.
You can also quickly fast travel back to your current major town (Kyovashad throughout Act One and Two) by pushing ‘down’ on your d-pad.
