What Are Altars of Lilith in Diablo 4?

games like Diablo on PS5

As you travel across Sanctuary, you’ll find a number of statues called Altars of Lilith. What are these, and what do you do with them?

The Altars of Lilith are demonic statues, unsurprisingly in the form of Lilith. Each area of Sanctuary has a number of them to find, and you’ll want to hunt them down. Why? Well, each one has a benefit not only to your current character, but all other characters on your account, too.

Each time you activate an Altar of Lilith, you’ll get a random permanent perk. The perks vary between statues, but you might gain additional strength points, or a boost to your intelligence. To activate a statue, you simply need to move close to it and press ‘A’ (or X on a PlayStation controller) to activate it.

Those permanent stat boosts are not only applied to the character you’re currently playing as, but every character on your account. They also move through seasons. It does, of course, mean that when a statue has been found with one character, you can’t activate it again with another.

There’s a small caveat, though. They only apply to the characters in the same mode. So any Altars of Lilith activated in Diablo 4’s hardcore mode won’t carry over to a character in normal mode, and vice versa.
