Diablo 4: What are Uber Uniques?

Diablo 4

Anyone that plays Diablo 4 knows that one of the major lures of the game is getting your hands on the best gear possible. Initially players make do with whatever they can get, before instead seeking out powerful rares that can then be turned into brilliant legendaries. At the very end of the game, however, players are likely to want to hunt down Unique items, that offer very special stat and ability boosts that can be build-defining. But even better than those are Uber Uniques.

While normal Unique items can drop starting from World Tier 3, Uber Uniques are only available starting from World Tier 4 and players also need to be at least level 85. While technically they can drop from the open world and most activities (you can’t get them from Whisper Caches or the Obol vendor), the chance is so small that doing so would be like winning the lottery. Instead, if you want to get your hands on an Uber Unique your best bet is to farm the uber boss, Echo of Duriel. Even then, however, you might have to defeat him 50 times or more to get your hands on one.

At the time of writing there are seven Uber Uniques to be found in Diablo 4, although not all are available to all characters. Details of each can be found below:

  • Andariel’s Visage – Helm – Can be used by all characters
  • Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander – Staff – Usable by Druid and Sorcerer only
  • Doombringer – Sword – Usable by Barbarian, Necromancer and Rogue only
  • Harlequin Crest – Helm – Usable by all characters
  • Melted Heart of Selig – Amulet – Usable by all characters
  • Ring of Starless Skies – Ring – Usable by all characters
  • The Grandfather – Two-Handed Sword – Usable by Barbarian and Necromancer only

Uber Uniques are desirable in Diablo 4 as they are very powerful indeed. The Harlequin Crest, for example, offers 20% damage reduction and adds 4 levels to all skills. They also offer substantial stat boosts, always dropping at an item level of 925 with maximum rolls of their affixes. If you want to be as strong as possible, then, these are the items to get. Happy hunting!
