Crimson Desert gets a major new patch, with extra armor, better companion integration and more

Thirsty for more Crimson Desert? You’ll be happy to hear there’s yet another patch out which, on top of squashing bugs, makes some significant changes to the game, which includes boosting companion integration.
Why does that matter? Because your companions have previously been a dead weight or, worse, a liability. So much so, in fact, that they’re often getting left at home. Skyrim taught us that: as well-meaning as Lydia might be, after she activated her sixth trap we benched her.
Crimson Desert’s latest patch, 1.13, improves how NPCs Oongka and Damiane integrate with the game. For a start, they can enter the Abyss, the game’s floating island region, and can equip new armour pieces. On top of that, the patch squashes a whole range of bugs related to the pair, and some puzzles have been tweaked.
Outside of these NPCs, there’s a load of new armour for players to get their hands on; 20+ pieces including boss armour. Naturally, you’ll need to complete the appropriate challenges, but if you’ve been looking for a reason to revisit Crimson Desert, earning a new outfit and then showing it off to your now-smarter companions could be reason enough.
On top of that there are a host of UI tweaks, aimed at making inventory use less fiddly, though Crimson Desert was already pretty excellent anyway. Check out the full Crimson Desert 1.13 patch notes for more information. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
