In case you missed it: Sony E3 briefing round up

So, we thought Xbox’s announcement of backwards compatibility was going to be hard to beat, but somehow Sony might have just done it, with four little words: FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE. Oh yes, surely the highlight of E3 for many people, but Sony have had plenty of other incredible announcements too.

In case you’ve missed their briefing, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered:


  • The long anticipated The Last Guardian was “re-revealed” with a great looking trailer
  • Guerilla showed off their new game, Horizon Zero Dawn, looking pretty spectacular
  • A brand new Hitman game is coming
  • Street Fighter V was shown off, with a public beta coming 23 July
  • No Man’s Sky showed off some of its features and gameplay
  • Media Molecule are working on a brand new IP called Dreams, where you can dream up your own experiences
  • Firewatch was shown off with a very interesting looking trailer
  • New DLC for Destiny, called The Taken King, is coming to PlayStation on 15 September
  • Brand new Final Fantasy game, World of Final Fantasy coming 2016 exclusive to PS4 and Vita

  • Mother Russia Bleeds and Eitr from Devolver Digital were shown off
  • Shenmue 3 is being Kickstarted
  • Batman Arkham Knight was shown off with a very dark and violent trailer
  • Project Morpheus and multiplayer functionality was shown off
  • Activision are partnering with Sony for early access to Black Ops III content
  • PS4 will get an exclusive Disney Infinity 3.0 bundle and early access to playsets
  • Uncharted 4 closed the show, with an amazing looking trailer
