Not only is Friday a day to celebrate the oncoming weekend, get a takeaway and go out for a couple of bevvies with your friends and family, for us here at GameSpew it’s time for #FreeGameFriday. That’s right Spewers; it’s the best day of the week.
So this week I’m recommending something I never thought I’d get into so heartily but boy-oh-boy have I caught the bug bad. As a new contender in the #FreeGameFriday Olympics, Dungeon Defenders II has shot right up as my go-to game when playing with friends. Already 11 hours down and having almost completed it with one character, Dungeon Defenders II still has a ways to go before it gets boring and as opposed to its predecessor, of course, it’s completely and utterly free.
This is the first game I’ve recommended so far purely because of its entertainment value. Not only is it super pretty – and at times, skin-clawingly frustrating – it’s a great game to play with a couple of friends every now and again. Dungeon Defenders II is a multiplayer game where you can play on Steam (without making an alternative account) either by yourself, with friends in a private session, or with a big group of new acquaintances, the choice is yours. Developed by Trendy Entertainment, it’s your typical tower defence and RPG action game but the colour, design and fluidity of player experience is really what makes this mentionable for me. If there’s one thing I love more than a good, free game, it’s a good, free game with great performance and lots of bright colours to “ooh” and “aah” at.
So if you’ve got a Steam account and a few friends who want to kill some time then get on it and start playing this highly addictive game. Let us know how you get on in the comments below, we always love to hear your views and as always: until next week, folks.
