Wayforward have decided to revive the forgotten NES classic, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, bringing it bouncing to our PCs and consoles on 19 January.
It actually debuted on the Wii in 2009, but Blobolonia isn’t a place you can leave unattended; it’s dangerous and has one of the most uninspired yet incredible names of all time.
The blob crashlands one day from outer space, befriends the boy and together they must fight and solve puzzles to save Blobolonia. By feeding the blob different jelly beans, it can morph into all sorts of cool things that’ll help you splatter evil blobs or platform in inventive blobby ways. He can transform into a big robot, anvil, bowling ball and even a bubble that you can hop into. There’s also a hug button if you feel the overwhelming urge to show your blob how much killing things means to you and I feel strongly that more games should have this function.
A Boy And His Blob arrives 19 January on Steam, GOG, Xbox One and PS4.
