Top 10 Horror Games That’ll Scare The Pants Off You

4. Alien Isolation

When it was announced that Creative Assembly were making a first person survival horror title within the Alien universe, we, alongside many other fans of the Alien franchise, were truly overjoyed.
It’s no secret that the last couple of Alien games have been of questionable quality, and often portrayed H R Giger’s svelte creations as nothing more than cannon fodder for macho Marines or the dreadlocked Predator to hunt and kill. Here however, the Alien is the hunter, and finally something to be feared and avoided at all costs… unless you want to be subjected to a brutal instant death, of course. With a lengthy campaign and many hair-raising set pieces, your nerves will be in tatters by the time you’ve reached this game’s thrilling conclusion.
3. Outlast

Developed by indie studio Red Barrels, Outlast is a terrifying experience that sees you being trapped inside a mental asylum rumoured to be conducting unethical experiments on its patients… and yup, it’s just as scary as it sounds.
With no means of defence, you have no option but to run and hide from the many lunatics that reside within, and trust us, there are a lot of the scary looking buggers. Whilst Outlast does lose its way a little towards the end, it is nonetheless an essential title for those requiring a good scare, and its Whistleblower DLC add-on makes the frightfest even better.
We’re really looking forward to the sequel to this one, coming out later this year.
