Ubisoft Show New Footage of Ghost Recon: WildLands

Ubisoft has released new footage from their upcoming Ghost Recon: Wildlands to start their conference strongly, well, following a Just Dance 2017 dance number and frankly, it looks fantastic (Ghost Recon, not Just Dance…)

This is Ubisoft’s largest ever open-world. Set within Bolivia in the San Mateo province, the Ghost Recon team are tasked with extracting their target; a man named El Pozolero, “The Stew Maker”. Just one member of the Mexican Santa Blanca Cartel who have begun taking over Bolivia by force, leaving a trail of blood in their wake.

We follow the soldiers as they sneak and shoot their way through a small town to pursue their target, using an array of tech and weapons. Gameplay flips between different point of view as the story progresses, culminating in a vehicle chase with some of our heroes in a car and some on motorbikes as their target weaves his way through the environment.

Speaking of which, it’s a gorgeous desert expanse, peppered with lush greenery and towns reminiscent of the spectacular visuals of last year’s Just Cause 3. You can almost feel the heat from the explosions, especially as a local petrol station explodes into a firey mess. Gun play looks smooth and driving elements seem well integrated.
