Bethesda today released many of the gameplay demo’s that they have been showing off at Gamescom. First up is a short video for Arkane Studios upcoming Dishonored 2. The new demo continues to show off some of the new protagonist and her abilities, Empress Emily Kaldwin.
Showing a stylish takedown of multiple enemies using Emily’s new ability, Shadow Walk, which transforms her into a shadowy supernatural monster that can silently rip enemies apart (sounds fun). As well as an ability which links the minds of enemies together so that whatever happens to one, happens to the other – so you can imagine what killing one does.
We can also see the takedown of a new, much stronger enemy. In the trailer we get to see old protagonist Corvo take down a robot with long blades for arms. The battle looks much tougher – possibly a small boss fight – but nothing that our protagonists can’t handle.
If you don’t know, in Dishonored 2 you have the choice of either playing as a much older version of Dishonored 1’s protagonist Corvo Attano or the new, and now no longer a child Empress Emily Kaldwin as she works to retake her crown. Both characters play differently and once you choose to play as one you may never switch. Dishonored 1 was praised for its difference in playthrough depending on if you went low or high chaos (few kills or more kills) and Dishonored 2 looks to be improving on that further with the difference of how your character will play as well as how the world around you reacts to it.
Dishonored 2 releases November 11 this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
