The PS4 Slim is confirmed to be real

Eurogamer have confirmed that the rumoured PS4 Slim is indeed real. If you didn’t know, last night many images were leaked of a possible Slim version of the Playstation 4. Somehow the console had ended up on auction website Gumtree before being sold.

Eurogamer caught track of the location this morning and visited the owner taking both images and a video of it being booted up to confirm. The leak comes not too long after the announcement of a Sony event on September 7th. The event was presumed to be mainly for the formal announcement of the upcoming, more powerful Sony console, nicknamed Neo. Now, we can presumably guess that there will be two announcements at the event; one for the Playstation Neo and another for the Playstation 4 slim.

This matches Microsoft’s strategy with the more powerful Project Scorpio coming sometime next year and the recently announced and released Xbox One S being a slim version of the Xbox One.

As there is currently no formal announcement of the PS4 Slim there is no information on the machine’s specifications – but be sure to check back when we have them!

Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
