You know that greatly underappreciated title from last generation that you really wanted to see get a sequel? Well, it’s getting a remaster. In what seems to be the tradition of the current generation, over-the-top shooter Bulletstorm is getting remastered next year.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will be releasing for PC, Xbox One and PS4 sometime in 2017 and, oddly enough, is being published by Borderlands and Battleborn developer Gearbox Software (they really like their B’s, don’t they?). While Gearbox is handling the publishing side, there is no word yet on who is handling the actual development and whether Epic Games or People Can Fly – who developed the game originally – are in any way involved.
The original Bulletstorm, which released back in 2011, was praised for its over-the-top action, crude humour and its unique skill system which allowed the player to kill enemies in a myriad of humorous and gory ways. The game however “only” sold one million copies and meant Epic had failed to turn a profit and a sequel was called off.
A remaster, if it does well, hopefully means the underappreciated title will gain new fans and hopefully a sequel – whether with Gearbox or not.
