Gears of War 4 may not be releasing for another three weeks but that doesn’t stop Microsoft from giving it a launch trailer. In the trailer we see a much older Marcus Fenix narrating the events that take place before the beginning of The Coalition’s anticipated title.
This is of course the first Gears of War installment developed by The Coalition (who worked on the Ultimate Edition of the original trilogy) and the first of the main series not developed by Epic Games – Gears of War: Judgement was co-developed by People Can Fly. First opinions have been strong however I, amongst others, agreed that the E3 gameplay demo looked a little stale.
In this trailer we get a look at the backstory of Gears of War 4 as well as a short look at the new characters – and a little glimpse of a certain Cole Train.
As part of Xbox’s “Play Anywhere” scheme the new title will also be available to PC players using Windows 10 (and updated to the Anniversary Edition). Reports earlier today have shown that the PC version is looking strong and is coming with a wealth of options for the PC user. Options include split-screen co-op, cross-play with Xbox One users, ultrawide monitor support, uncapped FPS as well as a built-in benchmark tool.
Gears of War 4 will be available October 11, 2016 for Xbox One and Windows 10.
