Styx: Shards of Darkness Delayed, But Gets First Gameplay Trailer

Stealth game Styx: Shards of Darkness has been delayed to sometime early 2017 as opposed to its original late 2016 release. The title hadn’t yet received a specific release date and the team at Cyanide Studios wanted more time to transition the engine to Unreal Engine 4.
Styx: Shards of Darkness is the sequel to 2014’s Styx: Master of Shadows which itself, was based upon Cyanide’s previous title Of Orcs and Men. Taking place in an odd world where you play as a goblin, Styx, and stealth your way past the usual good-guys of a story – humans and elves and such. The story, like Styx himself, never took itself too seriously and has always been a positive to the series.
The sequel, which is now set for Q1 2017, is set to have a larger budget and wil focus even more on in-depth stealth mechanics. The first Styx title was praised for being a pure-stealth game as opposed to many stealth titles nowadays but wasn’t perfect. Styx: Shards of Darkness is setting out to remedy this with shiny new graphics – thanks to Unreal Engine 4 – and new mechanics such as crafting. Some gameplay can be seen below.
