Swery65 is stepping down as director of Access Games

Hidetaka Suehiro, more commonly known as Swery65, is stepping down as director of Access Games. Suehiro is well-known for being the director and writer of cult hits Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die.

He announced his departure over on Twitter along with news that his health is improving. Swery65 suffered from reactive hypoglycemia, a blood sugar disorder, since late last year and was taking “a short break from the industry.”

It is unknown whether Suehiro is leaving th industry fully or just departing from Access Games. Swery65 has often received comparisons to names such as David Lynch and is one of the – relatively – well-known director’s in the industry. Just last week, Swery had re-appeared in the news after he revealed a rather wonderful new tattoo which, perhaps, summed up the cult director perfectly.

Whether you loved or could never understand Swery65, if this is his full departure, we have just lost one of the most unique, intriguing and utterly bonkers minds in the industry today.
