Tyranny, Obsidian’s new RPG, arrives next month

Obsidian Entertainment – the development studio behind Pillars of Eternity and Fallout: New Vegas – new RPG, Tyranny, launches November 10 for PC. Tyranny was only announced a few months ago, back in March as a game where “you play as the villain”.

Most games, especially RPG’s, take place during a great war between good and evil. Tyranny takes place after. Obsidian say great work has gone into the unique perspective and that ramifications for playing a “good” character will be strong. If you decide to play along in the evil world, you may still be “the hero of your own story” but playing good means many more enemies.

Tyranny could be seen as a new step for Obsidian Entertainment. It’s their first title in a long time not featuring Josh Sawyer as Lead Director and their first since co-founder Chris Avellone left to help work on Prey and Divinity: Original Sin 2.
