Vampyr, the upcoming game from Life is Strange and Remember Me developers Dontnod Entertainment, has just got a new cinematic trailer. In Vampyr you play as Jonathan Reid; a Victorian doctor who is coming to terms with his vampiric undead condition.
Dontnod seems to be going for a different marketing tactic than most. Most trailers for the action-RPG we have seen up until now have been gameplay demonstrations as opposed to pure cinematics. Nevertheless, in this new ‘Darkness Within’ trailer we get a look at the gloomy inhabitants of 20th century London.
The title presents a moral quandary for the player as you are tasked to hide and survive while either choosing to suppress your newfound powers or embrace them entirely. It is entirely possible to finish the game without killing a single soul but your powers will attempt to push back – and levelling up is impossible. Vampyr is set to unleash its claws on PC, PS4 and Xbox One at some point in 2017.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
