Cyanide’s eldritch horror, Call of Cthulhu, is set to release this year on all major platforms – Nintendo Switch excluded – and the new trailer certainly looks intriguing.
Calling itself an RPG with psychological horror and stealth elements, the Styx: Shards of Darkness team present players with a world influenced by H.P. Lovecraft’s finest works. The trailer, and game itself, detail the story of Pierce, the player character, and his descent into madness after arriving on a mysterious island to investigate a strange death.
“As your investigation leads you closer to the sphere of influence of the Great Dreamer, you will start to doubt everything you see. You will have to find balance between your own sanity, and your determination in finding out what lurks in the shadows – as they say that madness is the only way that can bring you to the truth.”
While a confirmed date has not been set, Cyanide and Focus Home Interactive hope Call of Cthulhu will arrive this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
