Taking cues from Bioware’s earlier Dragon Age: Inquisition, you will be able to craft and name your very own weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda. This, along with the appearance of multiple types of melee weapons, is a first for the series.
Yes, in case you hadn’t heard, hundreds of years into the future when travelling to another galaxy is as easy as travelling down the road – you can hit aliens in the face with hammers and swords. Because, why not? In fact, melee weapons have their own unique inventory slot placing a certain importance on them in Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Today, the title’s lead designer, Ian Frazier, confirmed you will be able to craft weapons – both melee and ranged – as well as being able to name them. It is unknown how exactly crafting will work in Mass Effect: Andromeda but will most likely revolve around a system of using items found in the enviroment, dead enemies and shops. I mean, you can make a laser gun out of rocks and leaves, right?
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release on 21st March in North America and 23rd March in Europe.
