Team Ninja’s action-RPG Nioh is just a few weeks away from release and, in preparation, the studio have one last trial for PS4 players to try out. ‘The Last Chance Trial,’ as it’s aptly named, will be available to play January 21-22 and can be pre-loaded as of right now.
The demo itself gives an expanded look at the level shown off during December’s Playstation Experience. Like with previous trials, fully completing the main mission will net players a bonus item – the ‘Ogress Headgear’ – if they buy the full title. Also available is the ‘Twilight Mission’ when, if completed, will allow players access to the bonus items from the previous Alpha and Beta.
Be warned however, to retain access to these items on launch, you will need to make sure you keep your save file – so don’t delete it! Nioh is looking to be absolutely fantastic after making a rather surprise appearance last year. Taking narrative cues from Japanese history and mythos and gameplay nods from Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha and the Souls series.
Nioh is set to release on 7th February in North America and 9th February in Japan. The game will release in all other regions on 8th February.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
