Portal Lead Designer Joins Amy Hennig’s Star Wars Team

Motive Studios today welcomes Kim Swift to the team – currently working on an unannounced Star Wars game. Kim’s work includes being the lead designer of Portal as well as work on the Left 4 Dead series.

Motive and Dead Space developer, Visceral Games, are currently collaborating on the title. The Visceral team is headed up by Amy Hennig – director and writer of the first three Uncharted titles. According to voice-actor Nolan North, the Star Wars title will be “along the same lines” as the Uncharted games, “it will be awesome.”

Design Direction at Motive Studio, on the other hand, is lead by Jade Raymond. Raymond produced various early Assassin’s Creed games. Certainly a promising team, then. The title has been in development for quite few years now and, while it has been teased by EA at various stages, we still don’t know too much.

It’s set for a general 2018 release date and will, possibly, feature multiple protagonists. Hennig wants players to walk away “with the feeling they’ve just seen a really good Star Wars movie.”
