If you’ve not got a special someone to share Valentine’s Day with this year, fear not: who needs romance when you’ve got Pokémon GO?
Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced that smash-hit monster collecting app Pokémon GO will be hosting its first in game event of 2017 in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
The event kicks off today, 8th February at 7 p.m. GMT and will run until 7 p.m. on 15th February.
During the event, players will receive double candy rewards whenever they catch, transfer or hatch a Pokémon. And because pink is, apparently, the colour of love, all pink-tinted Pokémon have increased spawn rates. Now’s your chance to catch a Clefable, Porygon or Chansey if you’re still waiting to add those to your collection.
Several Pokémon also have a higher chance to hatch from eggs, including Igglybuff, Cleffa and Smoochum.
Lastly, lures, which usually last 30 minutes will last a whopping six hours for the entirety of the event. If you’ve got a couple saved up, after 7pm tonight is the time to use them.
May your Pokémon hunting be romantic and full of love, trainers.
