Heroes of the Storm Gets a Massive Overhaul

You’ve got to hand it to Blizzard: they’re good at giving their fans what they want.
Free to play title Heroes of the Storm is getting a major overhaul in the form of Heroes of the Storm 2.0, which is available in beta from today. Blizzard are describing the 2.0 update as “the culmination of all the ways we’ve transformed the Nexus since launch, plus plenty of radical additions on their way to the game right now!”
The official website lays out a timeline between today and 4th May which will slowly unveil more features and information about Heroes 2.0. So far, Blizzard have unveiled a new progression system, and a new hero: Cassia.
The levelling and progression systems of Heroes are getting a complete makeover – the Player Level cap has been removed, to be replaced with the sum of all your Hero levels. The Hero Level cap has also been removed, meaning your character progression is only limited by your desire to play.
The change to the Player Level cap means that now XP only increases your Hero Level – but as your Hero Level increases, your Player Level will too.
Badge art has had a major facelift, too, and plenty of things are getting added to gameplay including new battlegrounds and Loot Chests – we all like loot, right?
This is only the tip of the iceberg, and if you’re a Heroes of the Storm player, it’s going to be an exciting few months as you familiar yourself with the new changes.
