Superhero Beat ’em Up Injustice 2 Gets Final Launch Trailer

Injustice 2 is looking super, man.

Warner Bros. Interactive has released a trailer for their superhuman beat ’em up Injustice 2, a sequel to the 2013 brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game, which launches this week, pitches various DC superheroes and supervillains against each other in an alternative universe where Superman went rogue. The final game will feature 32 fighters, including newcomers Captain Cold, Cheetah, Braniac and more; further fighters will be made available as downloadable content.

Despite being labelled as a “gameplay launch trailer”, the trailer blends both storyline and fight footage, supervillain Braniac taking centre stage he attempts to conquer the world. No doubt the situation will necessitate some sort of uneasy alliance between Batman and Superman who, in the game’s universe, are mortal enemies. Though if you’ve little interest in Injustice 2’s  storyline, you’ll be able to engage in regular single and multiplayer one-on-one matches.

Created by NetherRealm studios, the team behind the Mortal Kombat series, the game will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (a mobile version is already available on iOS and Android). Injustice 2 is out on May 16th in the United States, other countries receiving the game later in the week.
