While it was all the rage last summer, Pokémon Go isn’t quite the fad that it once was.
That’s not to say that there still aren’t plenty of monster hunters out there though, still chasing the glory of discovering those AR beasties all around their neighbourhood. If that’s you, then you should head to Chester on the weekend of 22-23rd July to take part in epic city-wide Pokémon hunt.
Pokémon Go‘s publisher, Niantic Labs, has teamed up with Big Heritage to organise a mass event that brings together Pokémon hunting and history by hosting a range of events at various heritage locations across the city. The event coincides with Chester Heritage Festival, an annual celebration of the historical city.
The locations will include the impressive Chester Castle, which will open its doors to the public for the first time in 20 years. There’ll be a number of activities both in-game and real world, with historical sites around the city turning into Pokéstops.
If you’re interested in attending the event, you can find more information and register your interest by visiting the official Facebook page. You can find out more about Chester Heritage Festival by clicking here.

Kim's been into video games since playing Dizzy on her brother's Commodore 64 as a nipper. She'll give just about anything a go, but she's got a particular soft spot for indie adventures, roguelikes and puzzle games. If she's not gaming, she's probably got her nose in a book, and you can find her bookish musings on her blog at What The Book. She's also freelanced in several places, writes about Lego at That Brick Site, and is constantly thinking about new projects she'll undoubtedly quickly abandon.
