Silent Hill 2 is a game full of secrets.
But while fans still discuss the game’s meaning and the true nature of the town in which it’s set, The Cutting Room Floor user Punk7890 has discovered some very handy hidden features in the original PS2 version of the game.
For a start, did you know that there’s a hidden mini map? To access it, you need to have obtained the dog ending. Then, simply press Start + L2 + Square + L3 and a mini map will appear in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Even more useful, however, is the ability to save absolutely anywhere. That’s right, by pressing D-Pad Left + Left Analog Stick Left + Right Analog Stick Left + L2 + L1 + L3, you can save anywhere at any time. Helpful, huh?
It’s amazing that features like this have been found so many years after the game’s release. It almost makes us want to go back and play it again. In any case, make sure you check out the game’s page on The Cutting Room Floor for more information, especially if you’re having a hard time getting the mini map to show up. And also, play Silent Hill 2 if you haven’t do so before. It’s undoubtedly one of the best horror games ever made.
