Hey Nintendo, I’m totally available.
Nintendo posted today a job listing that confirms it has started work on a new Legend of Zelda project.
The company is currently looking for a 3DCG Designer specifically for terrain/topography for fields and dungeons. The requirements for the position include experience with Maya and Adobe Photoshop. You must also be fluent in Japanese. The listing also asks that you have experience making backgrounds for action games, experience with concept art, and skills in using Substance Painter and Substance Designer.
The other open position is for a level designer to plan game events, dungeons and enemies. Again, it’s looking for someone with experience in the field and fluency in Japanese.
While it’s possible the job listings are for expansions to Breath of the Wild, it seems much more likely that these positions will be to work on whatever’s next for the Zelda franchise. It’s undoubtedly a long way away until we’ll receive our next Legend of Zelda game, but I, for one, can’t wait.
