Fortnite‘s Chapter 2 – Season 2 was scheduled to end on 30th April, but it’s just got an extension.
Epic Games has given no reason for the extension to season 2 (or delay to season 3, however you want to spin it), but one can presume it’s a result of… all the crap things in the world right now. You don’t need me to spell it out. It means that Fortnite season 3 will now launch on 4th June; slightly over a month later than originally planned.
It’s not all bad news: Epic is promising plenty of new content between now and then to keep Fortnite season 2 fresh. It states “multiple game updates” are on the way, that will bring “fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises”.

Kim's been into video games since playing Dizzy on her brother's Commodore 64 as a nipper. She'll give just about anything a go, but she's got a particular soft spot for indie adventures, roguelikes and puzzle games. If she's not gaming, she's probably got her nose in a book, and you can find her bookish musings on her blog at What The Book. She's also freelanced in several places, writes about Lego at That Brick Site, and is constantly thinking about new projects she'll undoubtedly quickly abandon.
