How to Change Your Name in Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone allows you to change your name to pretty-much anything, provided it doesn’t violate their community guidelines. Here’s how to do it.

When you change your name in Warzone, Your Gamertag or PlayStation ID will remain the same, but it will change the name that displays in-game. To do this, you have to access your Activision account.

When you signed up to Warzone, it will have asked you to create an Activision account (this is primarily to enable cross-play). You can access this account again online by going to https://www.activision.com.

Log in to your account with your email address and password (the one you entered when you first signed up to Warzone). Then, in the top right hand corner of the screen, click on “Profile”.

After going to “Profile”, you will have three options: Account Linking, Basic Info, and Preferences. Go to “Basic Info” and you will see an option entitled Activision ID. Your Gamertag or PS ID should be there by default. Click “edit” and you will be able to enter a new name.

Note there is a random series of numbers, separated by a hashtag, that appears next to your Activision ID. These numbers do not appear in-game. They are a randomly allocated ID number that is assigned to you when you create an account, so you can just forget about them. Whatever you enter into the Activision ID field will be what’s displayed.

Save and exit, and you can now really impress your friends in Warzone as “NoobKiller3000”.

He loves RPGs, open worlds and survival horrors (the latter of which he used to play in an old shed in his back garden - because apparently Resident Evil wasn't atmospheric enough). He looks out for games with a strong narrative; he's a great believer the very best games long outlive their console, and those are the classics he holds on to.
