Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Ryu Have Joined Fortnite

Street Fighter Fortnite

Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Ryu are now playable characters in Fortnite.

No, we’re not making this up. Fortnite has become some massive black hole, sucking in characters from every conceivable franchise and Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Ryu are the latest victims. With rumours that Family Guy’s Peter Griffin will be joining the roster, we’re sure we’ll soon be playing as Oliver Twist, smacking people in the head with our empty gruel bowl.

Fortunately, Chun-Li and Ryu are actually a fun pair of characters, known for their helicopter kicks and fireball-hurling respectively. Both are playable right now though Chun-Li is our favourite of the two. Sure, Ryu’s got a big wooden spanking paddle, and both soar in on an inflatable E. Honda, but Chun-Li has a tiny, Street Fighter 2 arcade machine strapped to her back and it’s the most adorable thing we’ve ever seen.

Both characters have their trademark moves, though the catch is they’ve been reduced to emotes. So while you can ‘charge’ Ryu’s Hadouken, you’re not going to be able to fell your opponents with a glowing fireball. You can play as the pair right now or you can watch the below trailer for a taste of what to expect.
