The Microsoft Xbox Series S is £189.99 in Amazon UK’s Black Friday sale, so if you’ve been thinking of getting a next-gen console, this could fit the bill.
Normally £249.99, Amazon UK has taken £60 off the price as part of their Black Friday sale, making it the Xbox Series S the aforementioned £189.99. You can find the deal here, though we’d expect it to sell out very, very quickly. So if you are in the market for a next-gen console, but don’t feel like plumping for the non-discounted Xbox Series X (£449), you should grab this deal ASAP.
But.. hang on, isn’t the Xbox Series X a bigger, better console? As we pointed out in our review, the Xbox Series S is certainly less powerful than the X. But it’s an improvement over the Xbox One and Xbox One X and it’s still a cool and affordable next gen console. The two things worth bearing in mind are a) it only has a 500GB SSD drive b) with no disc drive you’ll need to purchase games digitally.
If you’re okay with that and you want your first taste of next-generation gaming, dive right in and grab the Xbox Series S. £189.99 is a great price for the Series X’s smaller sibling, whichever way you slice it.
Again, this is a UK-only deal, though we wouldn’t be surprised if some US stores followed suits. And if Amazon UK does run out, Smyths Toys, also in the UK, is offering the same deal.
