Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is Coming to Xbox Game Pass

ByChris McMullen 29 December 2022

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which has a new trailer dropping today, is coming to Xbox Game Pass.

There hasn’t been any grand announcement – instead, the information was revealed through the upcoming Stalker 2 trailer’s blurb. Hosted by IGN and published in concert with Ukranian developer GSC Game World, the trailer arrives at 7:00PM GMT/11:00 PT.

It’s dubbed the “Come to Me” trailer and will be the first new trailer in over six months. Like the original and its follow-ups it’ll see you roaming the area round a nuclear disaster which has, in turn, warped the fabric of reality. And yes, it’s definitely Chornobyl – the developer changed the name after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Stalker 2, or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2023. Steam has it down as a December 2023 release though that’s likely to be a placeholder date. It’s had an interesting development history – after being announced in 2012 it was cancelled then resurrected years later.

You can pre-order Stalker 2 on Steam right now, though given that it’s been delayed twice, you might want to hold off for now. Hopefully 2023 is the year it finally sees the light of day – we have our fingers crossed that the new trailer will feature a new, not-too-distant release date.

You can watch the trailer here, on IGN’s YouTube channel, at 7:00PM GMT.

He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
