May is here, and it’s a fairly quiet month for games. Well, unless you’re a Zelda fan.

That’s right, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is very nearly here, ready to consume us all. But if you’ve not got a Switch or simply don’t care for Zelda and her ongoing struggles, what else is there to look forward to? Read on and find out, as we present the games to watch out for this May.

Redfall

Get some friends together and hunt vampires in Arkane’s Redfall. This open world action RPG can also be enjoyed alone, however, and with a wide variety of activities to complete and plenty of loot to plunder, there’s lots of fun to be had. Watch out for our review soon.

Age of Wonders 4

Mia and the Dragon Princess

With martial arts and humour, the latest FMV-driven game from Wales Interactive is something a little bit different. In any case, if you like guiding stories to a conclusion, you might want to check this out.

TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 3

A game that needs no introduction, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the event of the year for many. This time Link will be able to explore the skies of Hyrule and also combine items. Add that to all the elements that made Breath of the Wild so engrossing, and you have a game that is going to eat away a huge chunk of our free time, May and beyond.

LEGO 2K Drive

LEGO 2K Drive

Amnesia: The Bunker

Here’s one for horror fans: the Amnesia series makes a return this may, with The Bunker featuring a more open-world design. It’s also the first game in the series to provide players with a weapon. With ammo being scarce, however, you may want to carefully consider when to use your revolver. We’re looking forwards to this one.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

After some delays, fans of The Lord of the Rings will finally be able to go hands-on with Gollum. Stealth is the name of the game here, with players needing to use their wits and cunning to recover Gollum’s precious. What’s really neat here is that you get to control both of Gollum’s personalities: Gollum and Smeagol.

Company of Heroes 3: Console Edition

Already available on PC, the latest entry in the Company of Heroes series makes it onto console this May. You can read our review of the PC version here, and Company of Heroes 3: Console Edition is likely to be much the same but with a revised HUD and control scheme.
