PowerWash Simulator is coming to Bikini Bottom with a SpongeBob SquarePants crossover, that much we knew. But’s now been confirmed that it’s paid DLC.
In fact, the SpongeBob SquarePants crossover is the first paid piece of paid DLC that PowerWash Simulator has received though it’s not going to be the last. The Final Fantasy VII Remake and Tomb Raider levels were free but you’ll have to for out for this one.
But you know what? We’re find with that.. well, as long as it’s not got a silly, silly price. PowerWash Simulator is such a wonderful timesink that the more stuff we get to blast clean, the better. And we suspect money had to change hands for developer FuturLab to be able to take us to Bikini Bottom.
Plus, the new content is set to feature six maps, Conch Street, The Bikini Bottom Bus, The Krusty Krab; The Patty Wagon; The Invisible Boatmobile and The Mermalair. Yes, you get to clean up the Krusty Krab – let the “This is Patrick” jokes begin.
There’s still free content in the works, as well as two more pieces of paid DLC, arriving in Q3 and Q4 2023. FuturLab has updated their roadmap to reflect these plans, though what the next paid DLC will be is anyone’s guess.
We’ve got our fingers crossed for a Mortal Kombat 1 crossover, where you powerwash blood off the game’s fighting arenas. But we suspect that would interfere with the game’s rating. Still, we can dream.
The SpongeBob SquarePants DLC arrives this summer And if you’ve not played PowerWash Simulator it’s out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC. It’s also available through PC and Xbox Game Pass.
