Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards

And Alan Wake 2 cleans up, too

The Game Awards 2023

Last night, Geoff Keighley hosted this year’s Game Awards, live from LA. If you’re in the UK, you might not have felt like staying up until 4am to see the whole thing unfold. We stayed up so you could sleep. You’re welcome. Along with a host of new trailers and announcements, the best games of the last 12 months were celebrated with a suite of awards.

Baldur’s Gate 3 came out on top, winning both Game of the Year and Player’s Choice: a well-deserved and unsurprising win for Larian Studios, following the critical acclaim of the game this summer. Remedy Studios and Alan Wake 2 also did very well, sweeping up awards in multiple categories.

In case you missed the awards, we’ve run down the full list of winners below. Stay tuned to GameSpew today as we’ll be diving into some of our favourite announcements from The Game Awards, too.
