Immortals of Aveum spearheads April’s trio of PS Plus Essential titles

Immortals of Aveum

With March coming to its end, Sony has revealed the trio of titles that PS Plus Essential subscribers have to look forward to this April. As is often the case, it’s a mixed bag.

Leading the trio of titles that all PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to add to their libraries this April, and keep for as long as they maintain their subscription, is EA’s Immortals of Aveum.

Developed by Ascendant Studios and only playable on PS5, this fantasy first-person shooter got a raw deal when it launched late last year, being lost in sea of other AAA releases. In our review we sung its praises, impressed with its gorgeous world and fast-paced magic-flinging action. Needless to say, this a game you should definitely give a chance.

Also available this month for PS Plus Essential subscribers are Minecraft Legends, playable on both PS4 and PS5, and Skul: The Hero Slayer, a PS4 game that will also work on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility. We weren’t all that keen on Minecraft Legends when we played it at launch, finding it to be a bit dull.

Skul: The Hero Slayer, on the other hand, we haven’t played, but with a Metascore of 80 on PC, it’s probably worth giving a go. Being a 2D action-packed roguelite, it should particularly appeal to fans of games such as Dead Cells.

These games will go live from April 2nd, and so there’s still time to add this month’s games to your library if you haven’t done so.
