PowerWash Simulator 2 is launching later this year, bringing split screen gameplay

I never realised how much I wanted local co-op power-washing until PowerWash Simulator 2 was announced. Yes, there’s a follow-up to FuturLab’s record-breaking game all about washing dirty stuff. It’ll have new levels, new tools and a whole new campaign, all of which sounds very exciting, surely. But the main selling point, for me at least, is the fact that PowerWash Simulator 2 will have split screen.
Okay, sure, you technically can already play PowerWash Simulator in co-op, but only online. When PowerWash Simulator 2 launches later this year, you’ll be able to team up with a friend or family member in your living room, equipped with a power-washer on the same screen. It’s such a simple addition to the game, but one that could open it up to a legion of new players. Who doesn’t love local co-op play? After all, a dirty object shared is… a dirty object halved?
There’s more than just local co-op coming to PowerWash Simulator 2, of course. You’ll be returning to the world of Muckingham, but you’ll also venture to brand new areas like ‘Sponge Valley’, ‘Power Falls’ and ‘Lubri City’. A brand new campaign will bring you new buildings, vehicles and areas to clean, too. Your tools also have a variety of new enhancements, like a special soap that clings to dirt.
Another addition I’m pretty excited about is the new homebase. In PowerWash Simulator 2, you’ll now have your own area which you can return to between jobs. You’ll collect furniture and decorative items as you progress through the campaign, enabling you to personalise your home base and put your own mark on it. Of course, there’ll be stuff for you to clean here, too.
Give the announcement trailer a watch below. There’s no release date for PowerWash Simulator 2 just yet, but it’s expected to land later this year. It’ll be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
