Cronos: The New Dawn is not only making its way to Switch 2, it’s also launching sooner than expected

Thanks to how brilliantly Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 turned out, it’s safe to say that we’re very excited about the upcoming release of Cronos: The New Dawn. An original IP, it’s been giving us Dead Space vibes ever since it was announced, what with its grotesque enemies, spacesuit-clad protagonist and gravity-defying antics. That’s fine by us, and now we have a release date to get us even more excited.
With Bloober Team originally stating that Cronos: The New Dawn would be arriving this autumn/fall, we were expecting it to release in October or November. It turns out it’s arriving a bit sooner than we first thought, however, with a release date of 5th September being announced. That’s technically still autumn, we suppose, but the very start of it in our book. We’re not complaining, though: we’ll happily get our hands on it as soon as we can. We’re also not complaining that it’ll be launching on yet another format as well as PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, with an unexpected Switch 2 version also revealed.
A third-person survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn is set in a “grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology”. Playing as a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, you’ll explore and scour the wastelands of the future searching for time rifts which will take you back to 1980s Poland. There, you’ll be hoping to locate key people from the past and then harvest their essence so that you can bring them to the future. You’ll need to keep your wits about you, though, as nightmarish creatures also roam, and if they manage to merge with corpse they become even more fearsome and powerful.
You can check out a brand new trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn below, revealing both the Switch 2 version and the release date. As you’ll see, it look very atmospheric, and with Silent Hill f and Dying Light: The Beast also arriving in September, it’s turning into a scary month indeed.
