Eminem joins Hitman: World of Assassination as the new Elusive Target Mission

In words I’d never thought I’d be typing, today IO Interactive has announced the latest Elusive Target Mission to come to Hitman. And this time, players will be hunting down Slim Shady. Yeah, that Slim Shady; the alter ego of rapper Eminem. No, you don’t need to check your calendar; it’s not April 1st. This is real, and it’ll be available for Hitman: World of Assassination players from 1st December.

Eminem is, of course, on board with this collaboration, and has crafted the mission alongside IOI and creative director Paul Rosenberg. Described as “unhinged” and “dreamlike”, the mission sees Eminem recruit Agent 47 to put an end to his alter ego Slim Shady once and for all.

Players will find themselves in a medical facility in Hokkaido that has somehow twisted into the Popsomp Hills Asylum. There, you’ll need to track down Slim Shady as Agent 47, remaining undercover and not being detected. You can of course expect lots of Eminem references as you play, including a poisoned plate of ‘Mom’s spaghetti’ and a performance of Houdini.

We’re certainly intrigued by this Elusive Target Mission, and even if you’re not a huge fan of Eminem, hopefully you will be too, simply due to how bizarre this mission sounds.

It’ll be available to play for free to anyone who owns Hitman: World of Assassination on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Switch, iPhone, PSVR2 and PC VR. The Elusive Target Mission begins on 1st December, and will remain available until 31st December, so make sure you jump in at some point during December to enjoy it.
