Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s new patch adds one-button fatalities

Ever wished Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s fatalities were easier to pull off in-game? Sure, their complexity adds to the satisfaction of delivering a killer blow, but sometimes you just want to yank someone’s spine out lickety-split. Then you’ll be happy to hear that Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s latest patch adds one-button fatalities.
One-button fatalities already feature in the game’s fatality training sections, but this patch makes them available during Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s arcade titles. You have to enable them individually for each game but when you do, the in-game overlay will tell you which button to press.
You’ll still need to be the appropriate distance from your opponent, but it really is as simple as that. And even better, it’s free! Recent entries in the Mortal Kombat series gave you the option to spend real money on buying one-button fatalities, which never sat quite right with us.
This update (Hotfix 110125) is out now on Steam, and is set to hit other platforms next week. It also includes a handful of other tweaks, as detailed in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s patch notes.
- Improved audio buffer for online play
- Restore missing audio in 32X MKII
- General improvements to MK4
- Fixed issue that caused UMK3 to reboot after Scorpion fatality
- General stability improvements for Genesis titles
- Pause button hold time reduced by 50%
- One-Button Fatalities added for all arcade titles
- General stability updates to Music Player
